There are times when recurrent subjects (in this case passion, love, despair, loss, compulsion, etc) seem to pop up in front of our eyes even when we believe to have buried them deep in the back of our minds. This happened recently when I picked two titles at random to watch. It was a good surprise to see that the comical and thoughtful Wristcutters: a love story was in the Sundance Movie Festival of 2006 and that Christian Slater was back, this time with a great performance in He was a quiet man.
My two recommendations for an idle afternoon.
